Missouri City, TX (Tuesday, February 11, 2014) — Christian Jazz pianist and recording artist, Steve Trigg (http://www.SteveTrigg.com) will release his fourth CD, HAPPY PLACES on Tuesday, March 11. His latest offering is an inspirational, minimalistic, smooth style of jazz music which Steve has become known for delivering. The project will be available online as a digital download on Amazon.com, cdbaby, iTunes and wherever music is sold online. Physical copies of the project are tentatively scheduled to be available in April.

The 16 tracks on this CD feature all original songs that were written, arranged and produced by Steve. The songs are a personal reflection of things that Steve can’t adequately articulate verbally but musically paint the perfect picture of his experiences. “Blue skies, warm days, moonlit nights and shinny stars make me remember some of the ‘Happy Places’ in my life,” notes Steve. “These songs evoke feelings of happiness from very special places in my life.”

The title track “Happy Places” was influenced by a state of mind that took Steve back to jazz music in the 70s and early 80s with its carefree happy feeling and melodious flow. Deeply inspired by the drum track, “Ol Skool Groove” scores a high point on this CD. It is a feel good groove with syncopated riffs and pulsating beats. Another highlight, “Transcending Love” expresses Steve’s heart for how God’s love for us transcends time and place.

Steve’s jazz influences include Brian Culberson, Ben Tankard, Joe Sample, Greg Karukus and the late great George Duke. The Yellow Magic Orchestra was another huge influence at the beginning of Steve’s career. On “Herbish Hustle” he gives a nod to one of his all-time favorite jazz artists, Herbie Hancock.

Happy Places is a digital self-release under Steve’s own label, Trigg and Trigg Music (ASCAP). The complete track listing is as follows:
