Friday Night, February 1st 7PM
FREE EVENT:
NEA JAZZ MASTER LOU DONALDSON
IN CONCERT in NYC

Hello Friends and Fans:

The great saxophonist “Sweet Papa Lou” Donaldson is playing for very worthy cause, Justice for Jazz Artists (J4JA), an effort which I support, next Friday night, February 1, 2013 at St. Peter’s Church in Manhattan at 7PM.

This is a FREE CONCERT.

Please come check out this show, which will include a panel discussion on J4JA featuring some cool people: the great bassist Bob Cranshaw (of Sonny Rollins and Blue Note fame); hard bop piano icon Bertha Hope (Dizzy Gillespie, Nat Adderley, Philly Joe Jones); immensely talented bandleader and trombonist John Mosca (Village Vanguard Orchestra); bandleader/arranger/multi-reed man Arun Luthra (Billy Harper, Cecil Bridgewater, Bobby Short); Dr. Lewis Porter (free jazz pianist, educator, jazz historian and author of “John Coltrane: His Life and Music,” among other notable works); editor and jazz columnist Ron Scott (NY Amsterdam News, NY Times, NY Daily News); and John O’Connor, Recording Vice President of Local 802, AFM in NYC.

The Lou Donaldson Quartet will be joined by the great vocalist Keisha St. Joan.

The Event is FREE and kicks of at St. Peter’s Church at 7PM.
