Alvernia Studios today announced that Grammy Award winner Wlodek Pawlik is recording at the studios. The internationally renowned jazz musician is recording material with his band The Wlodek Pawlik Trio for a new album planned for release at the end of 2014.

Wlodek Pawlik rose to prominence earlier this year when he won the Grammy for Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album for the acclaimed NIGHT IN CALISIA – the first time a Polish Jazz artist has ever taken home the award. This is his first foray back into music since that success.

A frequent collaborator of seminal American trumpeter Randy Brecker, Pawlik is one of the European jazz scene’s leading lights having recorded over 24 albums, and has been named Polish Jazz Musician of the Year on three separate occasions.

The much-acclaimed Wlodek Pawlik Trio consists of Wlodek Pawlik himself on piano and long-time collaborators Pawel Pantra and Cezary Konrad on bass and drums respectively. Piotr Witkowski, Head of Sound at Alvernia Studios, oversees the recording of the new work on the mixing deck.

Wlodek Pawlik said of the Studios: “A hugely important part of the material is recorded at ALVERNIA STUDIOS and we’re thankful for the fantastic opportunity to work here. I’m very impressed with what I’ve found here, and am excited at the possibility of recording music at this studio. Simply put, this is one of those places where I feel great”

Alvernia Studios boasts world-class scoring facilities, manned by sound engineers and experts. The complex includes a spacious scoring studio dedicated to film and classical music recordings, in addition to audio post-production studios, a film final mix studio, and three large sound stages. Renowned musicians including Jonny Greenwood, Michael Price, David Kitay and Elliot Goldenthal have worked in Alvernia Studios.
