Martha’s Vineyard Jazz & Blues Summerfest is a production of Lewis & Kirk Productions, a division of Lewis and Kirk Music, Inc. A portion of the proceeds from Summerfest will benefit regional breast cancer networks and other local organizations assisting women who are receiving cancer treatments.

Sheila Baptista, Summerfest’s founder and President of Lewis and Kirk Music, reports that this year’s line-up will feature the return of some audience favorites, Grammy winners and emerging artists. The Friday, August 29, show at Union Chapel features the return of Andrea & James and the AndJam Band (wwww.andjam.com), led by Andrea and James Rohlehr, Amanda Ruzza (www.amandaruzza.com) and The Berklee College of Music Rainbow All-Stars directed by Tia Fuller (www.berklee.edu). Ruzza, a Brazilian bassist, and the Rainbow All-Stars are making their Summerfest debuts. The Saturday, August 30, show at the Old Whaling Church features audience favorite Sage, an all women’s jazz and blues ensemble, and Summerfest newcomer Jazzmeia Horn (www.theartistryofjazzhorn.com). Horn is the 2013 winner of the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition and recipient of the Sassy Award. Baptista expects to announce the complete schedule in July.
