NEW YORK, MAY 12, 2014: The New York Jazz Academy (NYJA), a pioneer music school, is offering a 50 percent discount on registration for one of its online jazz programs. This offer is on the occasion of the ‘International Jazz Day’ which is observed on April 30, 2014. Students who enroll for the online program titled ‘Introduction to Improvisation and Jazz Theory’ can avail this discount. This will bring down the total tuition fee to $48 for members and $60 for non-members. The usual fee structure is $96 for members and $120 for non-members. The offer is valid only until May 13.
The New York Jazz Academy has come up with such offers to help aspiring musicians understand the nuances of jazz music and accelerate their career growth. Going by this objective, the online program can enhance the students’ improvisation skills. The program looks beyond the usual nomenclature of jazz music. It will aid the students in comprehending and applying the core concepts of both classic and bebop jazz.
With this program, students will be taught through 8 hours of online videos that consists of video instructions, PDF worksheets, lecture notes and interactive quizzes. These study materials will be readily available for download. The content of the online course offered by NYJA does not have any expiration date. Once students enroll for a NYJA program, they will have indefinite access to the online study material. Their online account can give them access to the resource material for future reference. The live tutorial classes will expire six months from the date when the initial tuition fee for the program is paid. If a student wants further feedback and interaction with the faculty members, then the academy provides the facility to add five 45-minute private one-on-one tutorial sessions. These sessions will be conducted via video-conferencing and would be conducted by a skilled NYJA teacher. An additional fee of $192 for members and $240 for non-members would need to be paid.
For registration, students need to activate their NYJA online account by clicking on “Click to Access Your Online Classes”. By doing this, their name will be added to the online class roster. Subsequently, the NYJA office will contact the students through email informing them about their successful addition to the roster. Students can expect a 2-5 day turnaround for tuition-based courses before they can commence their sessions or can access their online account.
