The Friends of John Coltrane,Inc., a High Point, North Carolina-based arts organization, presents, The Fifth Annual John Coltrane International Jazz And Blues Festival, September 5 and 6, 2015 from 3 pm to 10 pm, at Oak Hollow Park, 1841 Eastchester Drive, in High Point, North Carolina. The festival’s all-star line up will include music on Saturday, September 5, David Sanborn, Marcus Miller, Earl Klugh, The Bold Soul Revival and Youth Work Shop Band, and on Sunday, music from Snarky Puppy, Poncho Sanchez Lalah Hathaway and NC Coltrane All Star Band. Last year, the fourth edition, was a huge success and this year’s festival promises to do just as well. John Coltrane, the master of the saxophone, was born September 23, 1926, to John R. and Alice Blair Coltrane, in Hamlet, North Carolina, in the rural, red clay, farming region near the South Carolina state line.
