The applications for the 38th International Contest of Young Jazzbands “JAZZ JUNIORS” will only be accepted by November 2nd, 2014.
Among all the semi-finalists who are not older than 33, a special qualification committee of recognized Polish musiscians and journalists will choose 5 finalists, who will perform during the contest auditions on December 7th in Cracow. They will be judged by an international jury of the representiatives from foreign record labels, concert agencies and jazz festivals as well as prominent musicians from all over the world.
The premise of the Contest is to promote young jazzmen not only in Poland but also abroad. Let us remind that, 40 years old Jazz Juniors Contest can boast discovering such figures of young jazz scene as the bands Miłość or Walk Away, and more lately NSI Quartet (Jazz Nad Odrą 2014 laureates) or Bartosz Dworak Quartet (Seifert Competition 2014 winner).
The main prize of the 38th International Contest of Young Jazzbands “JAZZ JUNIORS” is 2 500 Euro and a set of attractive side prizes.
