NEW ONLINE BASS SCHOOL
A quiet revolution within the bass world is expected to start this month with the launch of the new online School of Bass headed up by Missy Raines. Bass players will now be able to learn the instrument online from one of the most popular figures in the Bluegrass world as part of the new ArtistWorks Academy of Bluegrass. The high-profile Academy faculty also includes Tony Trischka (banjo), Mike Marshall (mandolin), Bryan Sutton (guitar) and Darol Anger (fiddle) who will give personalized instruction online using innovative Video Exchanges™.
The School of Bass with Missy Raines will offer beginner, intermediate, and advanced bass players access to one of the most comprehensive bass curriculums, as well as a number of interactive social features. Every student at the bass school has the opportunity to send a recorded video of themselves practicing and receive a personal video response from Missy with individualized instruction on how to progress.
Speaking about the forthcoming launch of the School of Bass, Missy Raines said:

ABOUT MISSY RAINES
Missy Raines is the most decorated bass player in the history of the International Bluegrass Music Association- with 7 Bass Player of the Year Awards to her credit. A former member of the Grammy Nominated Claire Lynch Band, the acclaimed duo, Jim Hurst and Missy Raines, Missy is one of the most popular figures in the bluegrass community and a trailblazer in her field for as long as she’s been playing music. Her rich pedigree in the field reaches from legends such as Mac Wiseman, Kenny Baker, Josh Graves and Eddie Adcock, to contemporary artists like Peter Rowan, Laurie Lewis, Dudley Connell and Don Rigsby. Missy also toured and recorded with the rootsy, edgy Brother Boys. Fiddle
Exceptional among modern fiddlers for his versatility and depth, Darol Anger has helped drive the evolution of the contemporary string band through his founding of numerous pathbreaking ensembles. Bryan Sutton first came to prominence as part of Ricky Skaggs’ bluegrass band Kentucky Thunder and has gone on to work with artists including Rhonda Vincent, Dixie Chicks and Dolly Parton. Bryan was awarded a Grammy in 2007 and has been honored as IBMA ‘Guitarist of the Year’ six times.
