“Priority” on Rhythmus Records is the second release by Bay Area singer-songwriter Chloé Jean. Following up on her acclaimed debut “Fairy Tale Fail,” released in 2024 (Jazz Week chart #11 & top 50 jazz release 2024), this project is a collection of originals and standards as well as some creative updates on songs by contemporary artists. As with her debut, this project was also produced by Bay Area guitarist/ composer Ray Obiedo.

Obiedo enlisted some of the music industry’s top musicians and longtime associates for the project. Yellowjackets’ reed man Bob Mintzer, keyboardist Peter Horvath, percussionist Peter Michael Escovedo, and vocalist Lilan Kane all make significant appearances. Santana member David K. Mathews and trumpeter Mike Olmos also contribute their expertise.

The music on Chloe’s newest release is an enticing cocktail of Jazz, Soul & Latin flavors, creating a rich and textured soulful soundscape revealing all the passion, color and style of the San Francisco Bay Area sound which has inspired Chloe’s singing, songwriting and musical sensibilities.
