BOSWELL SISTERS SPECIAL PRESENTATION
This year a special presentation will be made at 7 PM, just before Dave Weiner’s film show on Friday, June 21.
Vet Boswell’s granddaughter, Kyla Titus, and David W. McCain will give a short talk on current Boswell Sisters recognition projects including the Boswell Sisters book, the documentary being produced for PBS American Masters, and the major exhibition at the Historic New Orleans Collection.
The Boswell family collection that Kyla inherited contains a huge amount of one-of-a-kind personal mementos covering the family history and career of the Boswell Sisters. Kyla also possesses home movie footage and audio recordings, some of which do not exist elsewhere. The presentation will include short film and audio clips.
Kyla and David will also host a vendor table all day Friday which will include items for sale such as publicity photos, LPs, 78s, celebrity autographed photos, sheet music, and more, all from the Boswell Sisters family collection. It looks like the time has finally come for the Boswell Sisters to receive the recognition they so richly deserve—and Bash attendees will be among the first to hear about it!
