Jazz Trumpeter, composer and vocalist noted for his musical style as a “masterful genre-bender”, Leron Thomas has released his eighth project, Whatever. Composed and produced by Thomas, Whatever asserts that Jazz is as current and relevant as ever.
An impressive lineup of musicians is featured on Whatever. Joining Thomas on piano is Taylor Eigsti, Harish Raghavan on bass, Justin Brown and the great Eric Harland on drums with guitarists, Michael Valeanu and Matthew Stevens. Whatever is Thomas’ first jazz album in three years, following his well received ‘other music’ releases, reinforcing his strength as a composer.

Recently recorded by Blue Note Records as both Trumpet player and featured Vocalist on the Jason Moran and Meshell Ndegeocello Fats Waller Dance Party album (scheduled for a Spring release date) in which Thomas garnered much attention for his rendition of the ballad Two Sleepy People. Also appearing as a guest Vocalist on Zara McFarlane’s upcoming project to be released on Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood Recordings, Thomas is developing presence in the UK. In late October, following the release of Whatever, On-Point Records will release ..Take It on vinyl; an Electro-Pop, Funk, Post Punk project Thomas released earlier this year.

Whatever is now available for purchase via iTunes and Amazon. The first track is also now streaming on soundcloud.
